Long-term Research on Snow Trout Breeding Phenology

Himalaya

Indian Himalayan Region - Under the National Mission for Sustaining the Himalayan Ecosystem run by the Government of India

Me and my team of collaborators in India have been working on generating long-term datasets to understand the breeding phenology of snow trout. We now have nearly a decade of data, and the trends are interesting and indicate the resilience of Schizothorax richardsonii - the snow trout endemic to Himalaya. Breeding twice an year, we are witnessing strong plasticity of the snow trout to external stressors like climate change and invasion.
