Development and Application of Spatial Stream Network Models
My blog on the data logger deployment, and the cahllenges encountered
Me and my colleagues advanced the use of Spatial Stream Network (SSN) models for predicting species distribution and understanding ecological patterns in mountainous riverscapes of India. Unlike the other parts of the world, we brought this technique for the first time in India. These models integrate environmental variables and hydrological data to improve decision-making in river basin management.
📌 Key Contribution: We are the first Indian researchers to apply SSN models to conservation planning in the Himalayas—providing tools that are now being adopted in broader freshwater conservation efforts.
